Daily Serving

I’ve recently started contributing to Daily Serving a blog dedicated to contemporary art writing.  My first review of the Prefix ICA ‘Trade Marks’ show was published last week.  I’m excited to build this different aspect of my writing practice in my push to finish my dissertation. Writing reviews I find helps me to keep things more streamlined, more focused than when facing THE DISSERTATION where demonstrating my knowledge of this, and this, and that, can make for some turgid prose!

The other great aspect of starting to write for Daily Serving is that it forces me to look up and take note of contemporary art practices that aren’t in China/Chinese/part of ‘greater China.’ Its so easy to loose perspective while dissertating, so I am taking this chance to expand my exposure to contemporary art, which will undoubtedly help contextualize the artists in the dissertation.  Looking forward to sharing next month’s review soon!
